Food for Lizards with Strictly Reptiles

Reptiles are beautiful, intriguing, a big responsibility, and thus knowing what Food for Lizards are appropriate and healthy for the reptiles you own or care for is ideal. People from all walks of life care for lizards and other reptiles, whether they are a breeder, a pet owner, or work for a zoo or wildlife sanctuary. Part of making sure these animals are happy and healthy is having a safe and spacious enclosure for them, maintaining the proper temperature settings, and of course having the appropriate Food for Lizards available.

Since most reptiles and lizards vary, they all eat different things. In fact, most smaller lizards eat insects, but there’s a decent amount that are herbivores or even omnivores. Some even hunt and kill live prey if they’re big enough, like a monitor lizard or Komodo Dragon.

In the wild, lizards might eat a wide variety of worms, spiders, beetles, flies, other small animals like baby birds, baby mice, or smaller lizards, eggs, and fruits and veggies.

Some reptile owners might even choose to care for an insectivorous lizard to opt out of having to kill mice to feed them. In this case, most people will feed their lizards crickets, mealworms, or wax worms. Some examples of pet lizards that eat insects include anoles, leopard geckos, and long-tailed skinks. Iguanas are mostly vegetarian, while bearded dragons and blue-tongued skinks are omnivores.

While it’s easy to find things like crickets at a pet supply store, you should make sure there’s still a little more variety in your lizard’s diet since only feeding it crickets can lead to deficiencies in some nutrients.

If you’re looking for amore carnivore diet for your reptile, Strictly Reptiles Inc has Food for Lizards, Snakes, Turtles, and even Arachnids and birds of prey in the form of frozen rodents. These “frodents” can be purchased at a bulk price which can help you not only save on money but also time by not having to take as many trips to the pet supply store. There is a range in sizes, from small to large rats, small to large mice and even pinky mice.

At Strictly Reptiles, we want everyone to love and appreciate these animals as much as we do, so if you’re looking for Food for Lizards, we carry all sorts of wholesale frodent options as well as a variety of different iguanids and lizards should you choose to expand your horizons and add to your collection of animals.

If you have any questions regarding the availability and variety of the animals we carry, please give us a call at 954-967-8310.
