Strictly Reptiles is a unique online store that offers exotic lizards and other reptiles and snakes at wholesale prices. What makes them different from their competitors is their commitment to taking care of their animals first and foremost. Strictly Reptiles breeds their own exotic animals and is involved in each step of the animal’s life until we find it a warm forever home with a family as loving and passionate about these beautiful creatures as we are. Our online catalog carries a large variety of different exotic lizards, snakes, bearded dragons, amphibians, turtles, and more types of unusual creatures. Since we are involved in breeding these creatures and storing them until they are purchased we put the utmost care into our housing facilities and guarantee their well-being long before you lay eyes on your new pet. Here is a list of the 5 different categories we separate our exotic lizards in, along with some educational facts that make each of these types of exotic lizards unique.

  • Agamids: Naturally found in warm environments such as hot deserts or tropical rainforests, these types of exotic lizards are most often identified by their long, well-developed legs and longer tails. The other distinguishing feature of agamids is their teeth. Known as acrodonts, their teeth are developed on the outer rim instead of the inner side of their mouths. Agamids also do not have the ability to regenerate their tail if they have lost it. Popular groups inside this category included the bearded dragon and the Chinese water dragon.
  • Chameleons: Part of the iguana suborder, chameleons are most famous for their ability to alter their appearance and colors to camouflage, or blend into their surroundings. With as many as 171 species of chameleons known, they range in size from two feet to less than an inch. Chameleons never stop growing and shed their skin in patches throughout their life. Native to Madagascar, Spain, Portugal, and Asia, they eat their prey after catching it with a suction cup tongue that sticks to its prey.
  • Geckos: Some of the most diverse species of exotic lizards are geckos. Geckos do not have eyelids and can often be seen licking the transparent membrane in its place to keep them clean. Able to shed their tails as a form of protection, geckos can regenerate this appendage after losing it. These very friendly exotic lizards are amazing climbers, sometimes even seen climbing across ceilings
  • Iguanids: Jurassic in appearance and large in stature, iguanids also thrive in warm, tropical environments. However, a lesser known fact is some other exotic lizards, like the spiny and leopard lizards, are also part of this group. Some iguanids are tree-dwelling, though the more common ones are land-dwelling.
  • Skinks: As the second largest group of lizards behind the geckos, this species is notably similar to snakes in appearance, with short legs and necks. Another interesting fact about skinks is they are most active during the day and are favored by gardeners for keeping their crops clean of insects. Some skinks have been known to live as long as 20 years.
